Head Teacher Appointments 2025 – Apply Online Now under Punjab Government’s New Initiative

Under the education-friendly vision of Chief Minister Punjab, Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the School Education Department Punjab has announced the first phase of Head Teacher appointments in Secondary and Higher Secondary government schools. Applications are now being invited online from current government teachers through a transparent and merit-based process.

🗓 Application Dates:

From July 7 to July 12, 2025

All eligible teachers are advised to submit their applications within the given dates.

✅ Eligibility Criteria for Head Teacher Posts

1. Secondary School Head Teachers:

Minimum Qualification: M.A / M.Sc / BS (Hons)
Minimum Experience: 5 years teaching or administrative experience
Professional Qualification: B.Ed / M.Ed / M.A Education / BS (Hons) Education

2. Higher Secondary School Head Teachers:

Minimum Qualification: M.A / M.Sc / BS (Hons)
Minimum Experience: 5 years teaching or administrative experience
Professional Qualification: B.Ed / M.Ed / M.A Education / BS (Hons) Education

3. (Second Phase) Primary & Elementary Schools:

Minimum Qualification: B.A / B.Sc or M.A / M.Sc / BS (Hons)
Minimum Experience: 3 years teaching or administrative experience
Professional Qualification: B.Ed / M.Ed / M.A Education / BS (Hons) Education

📌 Important Instructions:

This is not a new recruitment, but an opportunity for existing government teachers to be promoted.
Appointments will be made based on merit, transparency, and data-driven systems.
Head Teacher Allowance will be granted after the appointment.
The online test will be MCQ-based.
Teachers can apply for their current scale or one scale higher.
Maximum age limit: 58 years (Teachers above this age are exempted from the test but still eligible for retention.)

⚠️ Special Notes:

PPSC-selected Head Teachers are exempted from appearing in the test for their current scale.
However, if a PPSC-selected teacher wants to apply for a higher scale, they must appear for the test.

The second phase for Primary and Elementary schools will be announced later.
